Panevėžys Music Theater
The Panevėžys Music Theater (lit. Panevėžio muzikinis teatras ) is an opera house in Panevėžys , Lithuania .
history
From 1960 there was an amateur operetta troupe in Panevėžys, founded by the composer and conductor Mykolas Karka (1892–1984). The music theater was founded on December 17, 1993. The first piece to be performed on December 17, 1994 was the musical fairy tale “Girių karaliai” (by D. Valionis). The director was V. Kupšys, the conductor was Vidmantas Kapučinskas , the painter J. Pilkauskas was involved. In 2001 the theater became a public institution.
The ballet masters were Vytautas Murauskas and D. Mockienė. The ballet troupe consisted of Ugnė Zanevičiūtė-Audejeva, Rasa Urbonavičienė, Viktoras Budrevičius, D.Vilniškis.
