from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Musikverein Frohnleiten (also MV Frohnleiten ) is an Austrian musicians' association from the Styrian town of Frohnleiten . It was founded in 1924 under Anton Ulm . The club was shaped by long-term conductor Karl Fink , who, at the age of 21, took over the baton in 1929 and held this position until 1981. From here on, Markus Waidacher took over his duties. He was also the director of the music school and provided for representative offspring in the band. Since 1999 Johann Hirzberger has been performing in the office of Kapellmeister. The well-known themed concerts were introduced under him in the spring.

The current chairman is Franz Windisch , who unites 72 active members. In addition to many awards in Austria-wide competitions, the association has been awarded the Styrian Panther six times and the Robert Stolz Prize five times .
