MusterMesse (theater)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The MusterMesse is an interdisciplinary theater format developed at the theater discounter in Berlin in 2004 . Inspired by the structure of international trade fairs, it sees itself as a cultural exhibition. In developing the format, one of the most important aspects was to take into account the structural diversity of economic fairs. In addition, we wanted to make production processes transparent for the audience, to present the broadest possible spectrum of established and innovative products, and to stimulate discussion among trade fair visitors among themselves and with the “manufacturers”.

In September 2006 the professionally staged spectacle will take place for the second time. As part of the MusterMesse 2 , the organizers deal with the phenomenon of an increasing flood of applications in public spaces. In the fields of business, science and culture, countless applications are drawn up and projects planned every day with a great deal of work. But only a small part of the visions processed in this way is made possible. Often it is the compromises that are realized. The exciting ideas and extraordinary concepts, however, disappear in the drawers. The organizers of Mustermesse 2 present unpublished, utopian proposals for an exciting mixture of ideas exchange, specialist conference, trade fair and theater event.
