Model regulations of the cantons in the energy sector

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The model regulations of the cantons in the energy sector ( MuKEn for short ) form an overall package of energy regulations in the building sector that the Swiss cantons have jointly developed . They are based on the agreement reached in 2008 by the Conference of Cantonal Energy Directors (EnDK) on model regulations for the energy sector.

The MuKEn 2008 is the third agreement in this area. Previously, the model ordinance on the rational use of energy in buildings was drawn up in 1992 and the cantons' model regulations in the energy sector (MuKEn 2000) in 2000.

MuKEn 2008 tightened the requirements for new buildings and major renovations and corresponds roughly to the level of the Minergie standard. For new buildings, 4.8 liters of heating oil equivalent per square meter of energy reference area are required.
