Muzvezve

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Muzvezve is a city in Zimbabwe with 12,000 inhabitants (2006). It is located south of the city of Kadoma in the Kadoma District in the Mashonaland West Province .

It is a gold rush town and one of the problem areas of Kadoma par excellence. The Muzvezve River played a decisive role in the gold rush there, and therefore also one with a view to the mercury contamination of the surrounding area.

Muzvezve is not a city in the strict sense of the word, but a number of wild settlements like Alexander, Amber Rose, Panners and Tix on the Muzvezve River, grouped around gold tunnels. In fact, it is a suburb and prospecting area of Kadoma, not an independent city - even if the very specific problems there suggest a special administration.
