Mvuma

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mvuma , even Umvuma or Muvumi, is a 1,400 m high place with about 2,000 inhabitants (2006) in the Midlands Province in Zimbabwe on road and railway line from Gweru to Masvingo .

Mvuma is located in a very fertile surrounding area, which is mainly to the east. Tobacco and maize are grown and cattle is raised. But yields have fallen dramatically since the land reform.

Mvuma has a hospital, elementary and secondary schools, there is a flight runway and a problem with wild deposits of mine waste from the places of the nearby Great Dyke , which is hazardous waste and is not a secondary income in this agricultural area, but really ruinous for groundwater and fields.
