MyBible was free Bible software for the Windows operating system . It was offered in German and English.

features

Several Bible texts and translations can be viewed in parallel at the same time. A quick full-text search ( concordance function) is integrated.

MyBible was programmed by Daniel Rikowski, a computer science student from Gelsenkirchen, without commercial intent. The current German version is 1.6.

There are currently over 120 different free Bible translations available in more than 20 languages , which could be imported via the Internet in Zefania XML format using a corresponding function in the program . Daniel Rikowski has now announced that the development of the internal module downloader will be discontinued as it has no influence on the available Bible editions . A separate download program is available for downloading and integrating Zefania XML Bible modules from the Internet.

There are currently 26 translations in German and 49 in English. Among the nine texts in Hebrew is, for example, the Codex of Aleppo . There are also dictionaries and concordances. However, these texts and translations are not an official part of MyBible, but are compiled and recorded by both the Zefania XML project and a number of voluntary helpers. Only the Luther translation from 1545 is part of MyBible.

For a personal Bible study , bookmarks can be created and notes can be added to any biblical passage.

From version 1.5.1 the so-called Bible cursor is integrated. If the user activates this function, the program recognizes whether there is a passage from the Bible under the mouse pointer and, in such a case, displays the Bible text of the previously set Bible translation in a small additional window next to the mouse pointer, regardless of which program or browser contains the biblical reference.
