MyCup

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

MyCup was a coffee pod system from Melitta that was offered in the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland. MyCup pads were modeled on the shape of coffee filter bags .

In 2006, Melitta discontinued the MyCup product line, but continued to provide consumers with compatible coffee pods. In the meantime (as of August 2018) there are no longer any compatible pads in the Melitta online shop. Pads from other manufacturers cannot be used with these machines due to their shape, adapters for coffee powder are also not offered.

criticism

After various complaints from users that the temperature of the coffee that has been poured out is too low, the FAQ on the MyCup website was supplemented with the tip to simply run a load of water through the machine before the actual brewing process in order to heat the device. This means that the preparation of coffee costs additional time and money.

The device was designed in such a way that - in contrast to other pad machines - no parts can be removed for cleaning (hand or dishwasher ). Cleaning is carried out using cleaning tabs that are inserted in place of the coffee pods.
