My American Heart was an American alternative, emo and indie rock band from San Diego , California . The name "My American Heart" is a reference to the band's Filipino roots.

history

The band was founded in San Diego in 2002 under the name No Way Out . In 2004 they released their first single, This Won't Stop , before changing their name to My American Heart in 2005 . After the "Taste of Chaos" tour, Clint Delgado left the band because he wanted to concentrate on his education.

After the tour, the band released their debut album The Meaning in Makeup , previously they had already released an EP.

During their Warped tour in the fall of 2005, they brought Dustin Hook into the band as bassist, so that Jesse Barrera could replace Clint Delgado on guitar.

Jeremy Mendez left the band during the summer of 2006, and guitarist Matt Van GasBeck from Downtown Singapore was hired to record the second album Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather .

After the Soundwave Festival in Australia, drummer Steven Oira left the band, Jake Kalb Ex-TheFold was brought in to replace . In 2008 they got Nick Logan as a permanent replacement for Jeremy Mendez who left in 2006.

A year later, songwriter and composer Jesse Barrera announced that he would be leaving the band to pursue his solo career. As a result, the band later announced their complete breakup.

In the fall of 2009, My American Heart started their last tour of some cities in the USA, they also released four demo songs.
