My Lupi

μ Lupi ( My Lupi , abbreviated μ Lup ) is a star system in the wolf , a small constellation east of Centaurus . The system belongs to the Scorpius-Centaurus-OB association.

The 4th magnitude (4.3 mag) star is almost 300 light-years away and is probably a quadruple system. In the binoculars , two components can be resolved with an angular distance of 24 ″, whereby the position angle is 129 °. In an eight-inch telescope, the other two components can also be separated, which are about 1 ″ and 6 ″ away from the brightest. The component 6 "away could be a brown dwarf.
