Plot and characters

Mytek, the main character in the series, is a giant robot in the shape of a monkey. It is being built by the scientist Professor Bohn ("Arnold Boyce" in the English version) together with his assistant, the dwarf Gorga . Bohn and Gorga are working on a research project in Africa. They come across the warlike Akari tribe, who worship the clay statue of a giant monkey. The robot monkey "Mytek" is modeled on this clay statue; With him, Bohn wants to convince the Akari of a peaceful coexistence. But Gorga turns against Bohn. He steals the robot monkey, reprogrammes it and tries - ultimately unsuccessfully - to lead the Akari to war. Later stories take place in North America. Bohn and Mytek have to save New York and Fort Knox, which is threatened by Gorga with a steel robot ( Tyron ). A supporting character in the Mytek series is Dirk Mason ("Dick Mason"), a friend of Professor Bohn.
