The Northern League denotes an amalgamation of several Asian Minor states under Nicomedes I of Bithynia against the Seleucid ruler Antiochus I Soter .

Members of this league were the cities of Byzantium , Tios , Herakleia Pontike , Kalchedon and Kieros as well as the rulers Mithridates I of Pontus and the princes of Gangra .

The Northern League is established by recruiting the Galatians as mercenaries in 278 BC. Chr. / 277 BC Chr. Crucial for the establishment of this people in Asia Minor .
