- Antigonus II Gonatas ascends the throne of Macedonia as the successor of Sosthenes . After two years of largely anomie with frequently changing kings as a result of the Celtic invasion , Antigonus succeeds in restoring Macedonian rule. Near Lysimacheia he triumphs over the Celts.
Western Mediterranean
- Pyrrhos I conquered the Carthaginian possessions in Sicily and finally stormed the fortress Eryx in the west of the island. The Carthaginians only hold the city of Lilybaeum . The Sicilian Mamertines are also struck by Pyrrhus.
