The Nýidalur is a valley in the Icelandic highlands . The valley also bears the name Jökuldalur , which used to be more common.

It is located south of Tungnafellsjökull . The Nýjadalsá flows through the valley and continues to flow to the Þjórsá . The Sprengisandsleið SxF26 leads past the western end of this valley. The Icelandic Hiking Association ( Ferðafélags Íslands, FI ) has two huts called Nýidalur on this slope .
