The Numerical Electromagnetics Code (NEC) is software for the numerical simulation of the radiation and impedance behavior of linear antennas .
The original program was developed by the US armed forces in the 1970s in the Fortran language and is not subject to any copyright restrictions. Numerous non-commercial and commercial implementations exist today.
