NETU - Network of European-Turkish Companies
NETU - Network of European-Turkish Companies is a corporate association based in Berlin . The association has over 1800 commercial members across Germany with around 12,500 jobs and 800 training positions.
history
Foundation (1994)
According to the Federal Statistical Office and other economic sources, there are currently over 100,000 companies of Turkish origin in the Federal Republic with more than 450,000 jobs and an annual turnover of 50 billion euros. In addition, numerous analyzes and research show that the willingness to set up a business is disproportionately high among migrants of Turkish origin . Against this background, several clubs and associations were founded in the Federal Republic that have dedicated themselves to networking these companies. One of these associations was MÜSIAD Berlin, which was founded in 1994.
Orientation towards society as a whole (2010-2016)
In 2010 a new board was elected under the leadership of chairman Veli Karakaya. With the implementation of a new club philosophy, social openness and overall social responsibility, networking and cooperation with numerous organizations from politics, business and the public were promoted. Under the direction of management and with the support of academic staff, collaborations and projects to improve the employment and educational situation in Berlin and Germany were launched.
The number of member companies increased and the association established itself as one of the largest migrant business associations in Germany.
Change of name and statutes (2017)
In view of the growing commitment and the establishment of an EU-wide network, a change of name and statute took place on December 17, 2016 at the general meeting. By unanimous decision of the members of the association, the name was changed and a new statute was adopted. In addition, a new board of directors, a presidium and an advisory board were elected, representing the entire spectrum of companies of Turkish origin, regardless of political and religious orientation. In addition, the membership of numerous companies without a migration background has resulted in the association having an international structure.
