NRW sports school
The NRW-Sportschule is a type of school in North Rhine-Westphalia that ensures continuous work with young talent in competitive sport on a broad basis.
history
In North Rhine-Westphalia was of state government and Landessportbund the state program "talent search and talent development in cooperation between school and club / association" was launched. This is where the design and further development of competitive sport for youngsters was formulated and implemented. The network system for schools and competitive sports was founded in cooperation between schools and sports clubs .
The schools that fulfilled these criteria were specified as “partner schools for competitive sports”, “sports-oriented schools”, “elite schools for sports” and, since the end of 2006, as “NRW sports schools” if they fulfilled defined criteria.
