NUMAST

The National Union of Marine, Aviation and Shipping Transport Officers ( NUMAST ) was a British union for ship and air officers (apart from pilots) that was formed in 1985 through the merger of the Mercantile Marine Services Association (MMSA), the Merchant Navy and Airline Officers Association (MNAOA) and the Radio and Electronic Officers Union (REOU) were created. After the members of the aviation industry had been transferred to the British Airline Pilots Association (BALPA) in 1990 , NUMAST renamed itself to Nautilus UK in 2006 . In 2009, Nautilus UK merged with the Dutch trade union Nautilus NL (formerly Federatie van Werknemers in de Zeevaart (FWZ)) to form Nautilus International .
