Na-Ga

Na-Ga is the pseudonym of a Japanese artist who works for the game developer Key and is best known for the illustrations for the successful Japanese adventure games Kanon , Air and Clannad .

biography

At the beginning of his career Na-Ga worked from 1997 to 1999 for the company Pearlsoft R. There he worked as a full-time artist on the adventures Hakanai Omoi: Anemone and Sweet Days . He only joined the Key development team after the production of Kanon and was involved in the development of the computer graphics for Air and Clannad . The first work in which his own creativity was also expressed in character design was the adventure Little Busters! . In this he worked out the character design together with Itaru Hinoue . In the as yet unreleased game Rewrite , he was only listed as a computer graphic artist. Nevertheless, he later made numerous illustrations, including for older games, in which he was not originally involved.

Together with Jun Maeda and the makers of Dengeki G's Magazine from ASCII Media Works , he worked on the Angel Beats! . In the project, which consists of various media, he participated as the sole character designer. Outside of the professional environment, he worked in the Dōjin Circle from-D .

reception

A t-shirt signed by him, which shows the illustrated by Na-Ga Riki Naoe from Little Busters! as a motif, was advertised on the Japanese auction site of Yahoo! offered for auction in March 2009. The lowest bid was 500 yen (about 4 euros). At the end of the auction, the t-shirt brought in just over 2 million yen (about 15,000 euros). The t-shirt was originally offered for Key's 10th Anniversary from February 28 to March 1, 2009 at the Key 10th Memorial Fes .
