Na Patarrà (full name Pou de na Patarrà , "well of na Patarrà") is a prehistoric well system near the archaeological excavation site of Torralba d'en Salord near Alaior on the Balearic island of Menorca . It is dated to around 700 BC. And is to be assigned to the Talayot culture . The shaft carved out of the rock is 49.6 m deep. The mouth of the fountain measures 7.5 mx 5 m. Its 199 steps, together with the stone railing, are laid out in nine increasingly narrow turns around the shaft.

The well, around which a legend has grown, is called the "entrance to hell". As you go down, the temperature rises and breathes strain, so the visitor actually has the impression of descending to hell . The construction resembles old Palestinian wells and was probably used by the builders of Torralba d'en Salord and is part of the water management of the Talayot culture .
