News for pilots

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Die Nachrichten für Luftfahrer ( NfL ) is the official gazette for aviation in the Federal Republic of Germany. The publisher is Deutsche Flugsicherung (DFS). They contain binding notices of orders for pilots as well as important information for aviation. The NfL appear every two weeks as a paper version, but are also available on CD-ROM and, since April 2006, as an online version. Distribution is carried out exclusively through the DFS subsidiary Eisenschmidt GmbH.

The messages for air drivers should not be confused with the NOTAMs (Notice to Airmen) that are announced at short notice .

history

The messages for air drivers go back to the messages for air drivers of the Reich Ministry of Transport (Reichsamt für Luft- und Kraftfahrwesen). The first edition, Volume 1, was published on October 8, 1920 and was intended to help "avoid the loss of German experience and German achievements in the field of aviation." The first edition consisted of a general and a technical part. In the first year 12 issues appeared at irregular intervals, in the following year already 51.

Departments

Insofar as these are important for the implementation of flight operations , they are included in NfL 1. NfL 2, on the other hand, contain information that relates to aviation equipment and aviation personnel and cannot be classified in NfL 1. Since 2014, the new spelling NfL 1 and NfL 2 has been used instead of NfL I and NfL II.
