Aftermath (contract)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

In Germany's law of obligations, after-effect means that the provisions made in the contract also apply after the contract has expired or is terminated .

The validity of an after-effect - including the possible need for an explicit regulation or an explicit exclusion of the after-effect - can be regulated differently for different types of contract. The legal framework in which a contract or agreement is concluded must always be observed here. In general, it is important to be aware of any possible after-effects when negotiating and concluding contracts.

Examples of after-effects can be found in labor law . If collective bargaining agreements and works agreements / service agreements are no longer to apply after they have expired, the subsequent effect must be excluded in these agreements.
