The Nationalist Party (phil./span .: Partido Nacionalista ; English: Nacionalista Party ) is the oldest political party in the Philippines . It was founded on April 29, 1907. In the first elections on July 30, 1907, the party was able to win 31 seats in the Philippine Assembly . It dominated the Philippine politics especially in the years 1907 to 1935 before the independence of the Philippines and also in the post-war period between 1946 and 1972. Significant members of the party were among other things the presidents Manuel Quezon , Manuel Roxas and Ferdinand Marcos , who from 1965 to 1986 ruled.
