Nail iron

This article is about the tool used to make hand-forged nails. For the also designated tool for pulling out hammered nails see under its colloquial designation: Kuhfuß (tool) .

For centuries a nail iron has been a basic tool in forging technology for the production of hand-forged nails . Since the Middle Ages by the guild of Nagelschmiede used, it is still of art forging used for restoration and the manufacture of railway nails or gift items.
