Nahed Taher

Nahed Taher (* 20th century in Saudi Arabia ) is the founder and CEO of Gulf Investment Bank , which has its main office in Bahrain . In 2006, Forbes magazine ranked her 72nd most powerful woman in the world.

Life

Taher studied at the King Abdulazis University, in Jeddah , Saudi Arabia Economics . She continued her studies at Lancaster University , where she received her MSc in 1998 and her PhD in Economics in 2001 . She subsequently returned to Saudi Arabia and worked as an economist for the National Commercial Bank . In 2005 she became CEO of Gulf One Investment Bank. She is the first woman to head a bank in the Gulf region.
