The transport Göttingen (NVG) ran until September 2015 as a subcontractor of Göttingen Public Transportation (GöVB) bus services in the city of Göttingen.

History of NahVerkehr Göttingen

Nahverkehr Göttingen GmbH (hereinafter NVG) was a Göttingen-based subsidiary of BRUNDIG-REISEN from Witzenhausen in Hesse. The NVG was founded in 2003 solely for the purpose of carrying out city bus services in Göttingen on behalf of the Göttinger Verkehrsbetriebe (GöVB). City bus route 6 was completely transferred to the NVG by the GöVB for the first time in April 2003; trips to the edge of the day were also made on routes 5, 10 and 13.

Over the years, the NVG received further rounds from the GöVB. They were found on all lines in 2010. After the conversion of the GöVB line network on November 1, 2014, the NVG operated trips on all new lines, except for lines 23, 41 and 42, and operated lines 50 and 80 without exception, as did their predecessor lines 6 and 9.

Vehicle fleet

In 2011 the NVG owned a total of 16 buses of its own, including 2 articulated buses, which were made up as follows:

The buses were at the GöVB depot in Gustav-Bielefeld-Str. based in Göttingen.

As of October 1, 2015, all NVG services were advertised, but there was no award. Since October 1, 2015, the Göttingen public transport company has been running all services on its own again. To achieve this, the GöVB bought 9 of the 16 buses and took over 31 bus drivers from the NVG. The NVG ceased operations on September 30, 2015.
