Naked Survival is a reality show that features a man and woman surviving naked in the wild for 21 days.

The offshoot Naked Survival XL has existed since 2015 with six men and six women and a duration of 40 days.

action

A man and a woman are exposed naked in a deserted place (e.g. jungle) somewhere in the world. In order to survive , they have to use nature's means to obtain drinking water and food, as well as building a shelter and lighting a fire. On the last day, both have to march several kilometers to a pick-up point.

Both participants receive a shoulder bag with a rough map and a personal, helpful item. They also have a wireless microphone as a necklace and a handheld radio to contact the producers within range in an emergency.

Each program begins with a presentation of the participants, the determination of the “survival index” (Primitive Survival Rating) based on their abilities and a note for the viewers about dangerous domestic animals and plants. At the end, the participants are compared with their initial state. This includes a before and after picture, weight loss and the new survival index.

Sometimes the participants or the producers break off the experiment prematurely. This happens mainly for medical reasons such as exhaustion or acute illnesses, less often for personal reasons. Occasionally the weather also forces a breakdown.
