Narragansett turkey
The Narragansett turkey is a breed of turkey derived from the American wild turkey . The name refers to the area where the breed was bred, the Narragansett Bay . The breed was recognized in Germany in 2004 .
description
The Narragansett turkey is a turkey drawn in black, white, gray and light brown, similar to the bronze turkey . The copper-bronze colored parts of the bronze turkey are steel gray or dark black in the Narragansett turkey. The white wing bandages are the result of a mutation that displaced the bronze coloring and are not known in breeds outside of the United States . The beak is horn-colored, the head red to bluish white and the beard, a tuft of elongated breast feathers, black. The thighs and feet are salmon-colored.
The eggs of the Narragansett turkey are large, speckled, and pale cream to medium brown in color.
