Johan Arvid Konstantin Knöppel (born March 7, 1867 in Stockholm , † March 7, 1925 in Bad Nauheim ) was a Swedish sports shooter .

successes

Arvid Knöppel, who was active for Växjö SG , took part in the 1908 Olympic Games in London , where he only started in the team competition in the running stag discipline . Together with Alfred Swahn , Ernst Rosell and Oscar Swahn , he won the gold medal with 86 to 85 goals just ahead of Great Britain, which was the only other nation to take part in the competition with a team, and thus became Olympic champion .

Knöppel owned a brewery and was active as an author. He was married to the painter and sculptor Maria Schultz. Her son Gustav Arvid Knöppel was also a sculptor and took part in the art competitions of the Olympic Games in Los Angeles in 1932.
