Natural cytotoxic receptors

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Natural cytotoxic receptors (NCR) are receptor proteins that are located in the cell membrane of natural killer cells in all higher mammals . The receptors are indispensable for killer cells to distinguish "friend" from "enemy (cell)" and to slow down or ramp up the activity of the killer cell accordingly. The three previously known receptors are NKp30 , NKp44 and NKp46 .
