Nataliya Kuligina

Nataliya Anatoljewna Kuligina (born August 12, 1971 ) is a former Kyrgyz judoka who competed for the Soviet Union until 1991.

The 1.57 m tall Kuligina fought in the ultra-light weight of up to 48 kilograms. She started in 1989 as a Soviet judoka at the junior tournament in Lipetsk and took fifth place.

In 1996, the Kyrgyz lost at the Olympic Games in Atlanta in her first fight against the Dutch Tamara Meijer .

In 2000 Kuligina finished fifth at the Asian Championships in Osaka. At the Olympic Games in Sydney in 2000, she lost in the first round to the British Victoria Dunn .

In 2001 Kuligina won the Judo World Championships 2001 in Munich in her first fight against Gereltuya Erdenechimeg from Mongolia, in her second fight she was defeated by Kazakhstan Tatjana Schischkina in the second round . Reaching the second round in 2001 was Nataliya Kuligina's best World Cup result.
