Natan Efimowitsch Perelman
Natan Perelman Yefimovich ( Russian Натан Ефимович Перельман * July 19 . Jul / 1. August 1906 greg. In Zhitomir , Russian Empire , now Ukraine ; † 18th February 2002 in St Petersburg , Russia ) was a Soviet pianist and music teacher.
Perelman studied in Kiev with Heinrich Neuhaus and in Petrograd (Leningrad) with Leonid Wladimirowitsch Nikolajew . He conducted concerts for almost 70 years from 1927 to 1996 and was one of the first Soviet musicians to make guest appearances abroad. For more than 60 years - from 1937 to 2002 - he taught as a professor at the Leningrad and Petersburg Conservatory. On Leningrad TV, he conducted a series of broadcast conversations on the piano . Perelman is the author of the well-known aphoristic book In the Class of the Wings .
