Nathan Caplan

Nathan Caplan (* 1930 ) is an American psychologist . He is Professor Emeritus at the University of Michigan .

Research priorities

Among other things, Caplan is interested in decision-making processes and the implementation of scientific knowledge in politics. He also researches achievement motivation. The academic achievements of the children of the Vietnamese Boat People were of particular interest to Caplan . Caplan attributed these achievements to a strong motivation to perform and a strong family cohesion.
