The National Center for Charitable Statistics (NCCS) is a clearing house for data from the US nonprofit sector . It was founded in 1982 . The seat is in Washington, DC

The NCCS participated in the National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities classification, which divides non-profit organizations into one of over 100 possible categories based on their mission and program activities. The IRS also classifies non-profit organizations according to the NTEE .
