National Training Laboratory

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The National Training Laboratories Institute for Applied Behavioral Science (NTL Institute) is the "cradle" of group dynamics and organizational development , it was 1947 in Bethel ( Maine founded). Pioneers from the fields of psychology, sociology, pedagogy, anthropology, psychiatry and philosophy researched the development and change (processes) of small groups. In training groups (T-Group), observation and self-awareness (self-awareness group, sensitivity group) broke through the usual separation of teaching, research and learning. They developed new group-oriented methods of teaching and learning. The knowledge gained in this way has found its way into all areas of life far beyond the academic field. The encounter groups and group psychotherapy also had their roots here.
