The National Research University for Electronic Technology / MIET ( Russian: Национальный исследовательский университет "МИЭТ" / МИЭТ , literally National Research University " MIET ") is a National Research University in Russia in the field of microelectronics . It is located in the Moscow County Zelenograd .
history
The college (then Moscow Electronic Technology Institute) was established on December 9, 1965, shortly after the relevant decree of the Council of Ministers of the USSR came into force . In September of the following year, teaching could already be partially started, with the university premises initially being temporarily housed in a school building. In the first year of teaching, a total of around 250 students, mainly from Zelenograd, were enrolled at the university.
In 1967 the planning and construction work for the main MIET campus began on a former industrial site in the south of Zelenograd. The well-known sculptor Ernst Neiswestny was commissioned to furnish the facade of the main building, but also the lecture halls and inner courtyards . A total of four campuses were built over the next four years. The construction work was completed in late 1971.
