National Electoral Commission of Ethiopia

The National Election Board of Ethiopia ( Amharic Yältyop'ya mirrich'a bord , abbreviation NEBE from English National Election Board of Ethiopia ) is an independent government agency that oversees the elections in Ethiopia .

The Authority was established by the Proclamation No. 64/1992 and usually corresponds to the People's House of Representatives , the lower house of the Ethiopian Parliament .

The directorate consists of two components: the directorate and the secretariat. According to Article 6 of the amended Proclamation No. 532/2006, the NEBE Board of Directors consists of nine members appointed by the Prime Minister and appointed by the House of Representatives of the Nations . When choosing these members, which is based on the diversity of the individual nationalities in Ethiopia, it must be ensured that they correspond to the proportional representation of the sexes.

The Secretariat is the operational department of the National Electoral Directorate of Ethiopia. At the top is the general manager. The secretariat is responsible for preparing and managing the electoral process.
