National Paralympic Committee

National Paralympic Committee or "national paralympic committee" (NPC) is the contact person for the respective country for the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) and at the same time a member of the same. It is responsible for nominating and sending disabled athletes to the Paralympic Games and represents their interests. There are currently 165 NPCs.

According to the rules of the IOC, the National Paralympic Committee is an independent and autonomous organization within the self-government of sport in the respective country. In Germany this function is carried out by the German Disabled Sports Association .
