The Lithuanian National Philharmonic (lit. Lietuvos nacionalinė filharmonija ) is a concert company in Vilnius , the largest city in Lithuania . Here rehearse and rehearse the Lithuanian Philharmonic Choir , the Lithuanian Estradenorchester , the String Quartet of Lithuania , the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra and Musica humana . The building is located in the old town of Vilnius .

history

The first Lithuanian bookshop in Vilnius was opened in the building of the current Philharmonic in 1904 and in 1905 the Didysis Vilniaus Seimas , the Vilnius Seimas , met here . The Philharmonie was founded on December 4, 1940 and initially closed again in 1943. She has been working again since August 1944. In 1998 it got the status of the national cultural institution.
