A natural swimming pool is a clearly delimited facility that consists of a bathing water area that is suitable and marked for bathing purposes, as well as a land area allocated to and delimited to this water area. It is equipped with extensions that are typical of swimming pools (e.g. jumping facility, water slide). The natural pools include z. B. river or inland lakes.

Artificially created swimming ponds are often referred to as natural pools, although this is not the correct term.
