Schwalgloch Platte natural monument

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Schwalgloch Platte natural monument with an area of 0.03  ha is located in the urban area of Marsberg south of Erlinghausen in the Hochsauerland district . The area was designated as a natural monument (ND) in 2008 with the Marsberg landscape plan by the district council of the Hochsauerlandkreis . The ND is surrounded by the Platte landscape protection area .

description

The landscape plan explains the ND: “Around 400 m south-east of the flat ridge“ Platte ”, after a short course through the relatively flat field, a small body of water seeps away where the overlying red sandstone ceiling merges again to the north into the older Zechstein limestone. In addition to this geological “landmark”, the embankment vegetation of this stream shrinkage forms a near-natural structural element in the surrounding, largely undivided agricultural landscape. Due to the relatively good accessibility and simultaneous location away from major roads, the property is latently endangered by the deposition of organic waste, reading stones and materials alien to the landscape. The existing deposits of foreign material must be removed from the delimited protected object. "

Protection purpose

The landscape plan explains the protection purpose: "All the following natural monuments represent individual creations of nature that are in need of protection for scientific, geographical and geological reasons as well as because of their rarity and peculiarity." In the ND, "all actions are prohibited that lead to destruction, damage or Change of the protected property. In particular, it is forbidden:

  • To carry out embankments, backfills, excavations or excavations or to change the shape of the ground in any other way;
  • To damage, uproot, dig up trees, bushes or other wild plants or to sever parts of them or to impair their growth in any other way;
  • to erect structural facilities. "
