Natural hill

Ski jumping hill on Kulm (Bad Mitterndorf)

A natural hill is a ski jumping hill that has not been supplemented by construction work either in the approach area (diving tower) or in the landing area (slope). A natural hill is therefore formed by its natural surroundings. The Gross-Titlis-Schanze in Engelberg and the Paul-Ausserleitner-Schanze in Bischofshofen are examples of natural hills.

The largest German natural hill is the Große Hochfirstschanze (K 125) in Titisee-Neustadt . The ski jumping hill on Kulm in Tauplitz was the largest natural hill in the world until it was renovated in 2014.
