Rainer Maria Salzgeber (born August 15, 1969 in Brig , Canton Valais ) is a Swiss sports journalist , football commentator and television presenter .

Life

Salzgeber grew up in Raron and played two seasons as a football goalkeeper in the 2nd division at FC Brig . He later moved to Zurich , where he works as an editor and presenter for Swiss television . In the documentary soap " Der Match ", Salzgeber played in his position as goalkeeper for the celebrity team.

He received the Swiss TV Prize in the Star National category for his moderation on the occasion of the 2008 European Football Championship . He was also named Swiss Sports Journalist of the Year at the end of 2008.

From summer 2019 he will take over the moderation of Donnschtig-Jass , where he will replace Roman Kilchsperger . At his side, Stefan Büsser will act as co-moderator.

Salzgeber is an ambassador for Laureus Sport for Good , where he also regularly moderates the Laureus Charity Night .
