The Nature Conservation Academy Hessen (NAH) is an institution of the State of Hessen and the Naturschutz-Zentrum Hessen eV in Wetzlar . The aim of the NAH is to organize and coordinate advanced training in nature conservation and to coordinate educational offers from various providers in Hessen.

The tasks of the State of Hesse within the NAH are:

Projects

The NAH organizes the following projects:

  • Satellite geography: Through the use of new media, aspects of basic topographical knowledge can be deepened with knowledge of geographical working techniques.
  • Learning locations: A concept developed by NAH together with partners to develop natural spaces as learning locations.

The NZH association

The Naturschutz-Zentrum Hessen eV is one of the two pillars of the NAH. The association was founded in 1976 as a link between official and voluntary nature and environmental protection in Hesse. This function is made possible by the special membership structure: Members are the most important Hessian associations for nature and environmental protection (NABU Hessen, BUND Hessen, etc.) as well as the state of Hessen itself. The Lahn-Dill district and the city ​​of Wetzlar are also members.
