Nausithoos (son of Poseidon)
Nausithous ( ancient Greek Ναυσίθοος ) is in Greek mythology, king of the Phaeacians , a son of Poseidon and the Periboea .
Nausithoos was the first king of the Phaiacs, who at that time still lived near the territory of the Cyclops , who in turn represented a constant threat to the Phaiacs. Nausithoos therefore led them to Scheria , where they established their happy kingdom. His son is King Alcinous , who welcomed Odysseus kindly and arranged for him to be brought to his home in Ithaca.
