Nausts from Backiskaill
The Nausts of Backiskaill on the Orkney island of Papa Westray are (Engl. On the coast to the old pier jetty ) of Backiskaill. They are a series of contiguous nausts made from lawn and upright slabs. They are 2 to 2.5 m wide and up to 5.5 m long. The three northern boathouses open to the beach and winds stand at the head of two. The three southern ones are shortened and their floors are 0.5 m above the beach.
In the south, is a small through erosion of exposed midden from Napfschneckenschalen (engl. Limpet ).
