Nauthólsvík geothermal bath

In 2001 a leisure pool was opened in Nauthólsvík. The sand was imported from Morocco and the lagoon was surrounded by large stone walls, where the cold sea water and the hot geothermal water meet. The normal sea temperature varies from -1.9 ° C in winter to 17 ° C in the warmest months. Due to the geothermal energy of Nauthólvík, the water temperature is significantly higher at 15 ° C to 19 ° C all year round. There are also hot pots , a steam bath , a kiosk and changing rooms. The bath has 530,000 visitors a year.
