Naval Vessel Rules

The Naval Vessel Rules (NVR) is a collection of the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS) of rules for the construction and operation of ships and other maritime objects such as B. drilling platforms. The NVR defines rules for construction and design for various areas:

  • stability
  • structure
  • Drive system
  • Electrical system
  • Control, navigation and communication systems
  • Auxiliary systems
  • Accommodation and facilities
  • materials

The NVR, first published in 1870, are considered the basic technical standard in the ABS certification process .
