Margaret Hubbard

Margaret Hubbard (born June 16, 1924 in Adelaide , † April 28, 2011 in Oxford ) was an Australian-British classical philologist .

Hubbard studied Classical Philology at the University of Adelaide . From May 1, 1954 to July 10, 1955, she worked as a volunteer at the Thesaurus Linguae Latinae , where she wrote articles for Volume VII, 1. From 1957 to 1986 she was a Fellow and Tutor (lecturer) at St Anne's College of Oxford University .

Hubbard dealt with various subjects in Latin literature and language, especially with the Augustan poets. Your Properz -Monographie (1974) and her together with Robin GM Nisbet authored commentary on the first two books of Horace - Oden (1970, 1978) are internationally recognized standard works.
