The St Anne's College is one of the colleges of the University of Oxford . It was originally founded as the Association for the Education of Women , the first institution in Oxford to include women in higher education. The facility was later known as the Society of Home Students . In 1942 it was finally renamed St Anne's Society and was given college status in 1952. Until 1979 only women were accepted. Today St Anne's is one of the larger colleges with around 450 undergraduates and around 150 graduate students. The ratio between male and female students is now balanced.

location

The college is located in North Oxford , on St John's College donated property between Woodstock Road and Banbury Road . Before that, the college was spread across Oxford in several buildings. These were sold to fund the Ruth Deech Building, completed in 2005 .
